The Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) Blue Eagles, reigning University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball champions, are currently mapping out plans for the defense of their title next season.
Coach Norman Black said one of the team’s plans is to boost their stock of players to replace their mainstays who have graduated this school year.
“Talking about it in general, we have different groups coming in,” said Black.
Some of the players, he said, will be coming from the reserve team.
“There are players coming up from Team B. They have the chance to make it into the team. There will be 3 or 4 recruits coming in from other schools [outside Ateneo],” said Black, who steered the Blue Eagles to back-to-back championships.
Black, however, declined to name the players who will serve as replacements for UAAP graduates like Jai Reyes, Nonoy Baclao and big man Rabeh Al-Hussaini.
“It’s really difficult for me to talk about it right now because some of them are attending high school and other schools outside Ateneo,” he said.
