NBA Daily Results

vs(By JOSEPH WHITE From the Associated Press) - The Hornets have the longest active run in the NBA, but no one is about to compare them to the Lakers or Celtics just yet. Two days after a narrow victory over the woeful New Jersey Nets, New Orleans blew a seven-point fourth-quarter lead Sunday before holding on for a 115-110 win over another last-place team, the Washington Wizards...Paul scored eight of his 26 points in the final three minutes and added 14 assists, Peja Stojakovic scored 20 points, and West and Marcus Thornton had 15 apiece for the Hornets, who have won three straight away from home to improve their road record to 5-13...Antawn Jamison tied his season-high with 32 points, and Randy Foye had 23 starting in place of Arenas to set a season-high for the second straight game. Washington wasted a 58 percent shooting game by committing 19 turnovers, including two by Nick Young and one by Foye in the final three minutes...“There’s no one out there you can just consistently say, ‘Hey, give me the ball, I’m going to go ahead and get you 30.’ That’s not going to happen,” said center Brendan Haywood, who had 14 points and 14 rebounds and made all seven of his field goal attempts. “We’re going to have to play better as a team, and we had some lulls in the second quarter and the fourth.”

vs(From the Associated Press) - Boston coach Doc Rivers asked point guard Rajon Rondo to give the Celtics an early burst of energy. Rondo kept it up all game and finished with his first triple-double of the season. He had 22 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds while Rasheed Wallace scored a season-high 29 points and the Celtics beat Toronto 114-107 on Sunday for their seventh straight win over the Raptors...Wallace made five of Boston’s 11 3-pointers. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins each scored 16 points for Boston, which had lost four of six coming in...Toronto’s Chris Bosh fouled out with 31 points and 13 rebounds, with Andrea Bargnani adding 23 points. Not even a series of visits from the NBA’s top shooting guards has slowed down the Clippers, who haven’t lost at home since Dec. 13. Eric Gordon scored 17 points and Rasual Butler added 13 for the Clippers, who moved within one game of .500 with another one-sided win in their impressive run at Staples Center...Los Angeles jumped to a 19-point lead in the first half and wasn’t threatened by Miami despite 19 turnovers and a solid start by Wade, who scored 24 points. The Heat have lost five of seven to drop within one game of .500, and Wade emerged frustrated after sitting out the final 8:21 with a game at Utah looming Monday night...Although Miami won the opener of its six-game West Coast trip in Phoenix on Friday, the Clippers mostly shut down Wade’s teammates. Except for Michael Beasley, who scored 15 of his 20 points in the first half, none of Wade’s supporting cast had more than Mario Chalmers’ 11 points, which he scored entirely in the final minutes of a blowout.

San Antonio plays host to the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday night...Despite their sloppy play, the Spurs managed to grab a 49-47 halftime lead. Duncan dominated underneath with 13 rebounds and eight points. Ginobili led all scorers with 15 points but also turned the ball over three times. The Nets held Tony Parker scoreless in the first 24 minutes.

Brandon Roy scored 34 points for the Blazers, who trailed by as many as 17 points in the second half but rallied late, closing to 76-74 on two consecutive 3-pointers from Martell Webster and Andre Miller’s layup. Portland didn’t get any closer until Roy’s 3-pointer with 6:55 left tied it at 87...James was 8 for 8 from the floor in the first quarter, finished 13 of 19 from the field, and made 12 of 14 free-throw attempts. “I just wanted to be aggressive,” he said. “You have to be that way in order to get road wins, so that was my whole mindset going into tonight.”

vs(By BETH HARRIS From the Associated Press) - Kobe Bryant struggled through his fourth consecutive sub-par shooting game because of his broken right index finger. The Lakers still led all the way and avoided their first three-game losing streak in nearly two years. Bryant’s supporting cast came through in a 95-77 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night...Milwaukee’s 77 points were the fewest the team has ever scored against the Lakers, breaking the old mark of 82 on Feb. 25, 1973. Milwaukee’s reserves did the bulk of its scoring. Hakim Warrick had 14 points, Jodie Meeks 12, and Brandon Jennings, Luke Ridnour and Charlie Bell 10 each for the Bucks, who had won three straight but dropped to 5-11 on the road. Milwaukee starting guard Michael Redd left the game because of a sore left knee and didn’t return. He was scoreless in nearly 12 minutes. He is scheduled for a MRI on Monday in Phoenix.
