Giants 97, Beermen 84
James Yap scored 24 points, 10 coming n the final quarter as the Purefoods TJ giants staved off a rally by the San Miguel Beermen, 97-84 in Game 4 of their Best-of-7 semifinals series.
Yap went 13-of-16 from the line, Marc Pingris finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Rafi Reavis 12 and 14 and Roger Yap contributed 15pts, 10 assists and 9 boards for the Giants, which tied their series with the Beermen at 2-all.
"It's been a game of adjustments. We need the other players to get involved on offense other than James and Kerby (Raymundo). We made some antidotes, and the great thing is it worked," said Purefoods coach Ryan Gregorio.
"Now it’s just a best-of-3 and we think we have a legitimate crack (at the Finals)."
"We can't play this way. We're giving up 48 percent shooting when we know that we have been holding our opponents to below 40 throughout the conference," said SMB coach Siot Tanquingcen. "We just have to make sure we have the better commitment and better communication (in Game 5)."
Kerby Raymundo added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Giants.
Danny Ildefonso led the Beermen with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Jay Washington added 14 p[oints, Jonas Villanueva 13 and Dondon Hontiveros 10. Arwind Santos, plagued by foul trouble throughout, finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

LA Tenorio scored 20 points and issued 10 assists while reserve Reynel Hugnatan fired 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Alaska Aces completed a four-game sweep of the Brgy. Ginebra Kings with a 102-95 win at the Araneta Coliseum.
Sonny Thoss added 15 points and Joe Devance 14 for the Aces, who now advances to their second straight Philippine Cup finals and await the winner between the San Miguel Beermen and the Purefoods TJ giants, who are locked in a 2-all deadlocked in their own semifinals series.
An 8-0 run by the Aces in the middle of the fourth quarter put them ahead 93-85 breaking the spirits of the Kings, who was trailing most of the game and playing with a depleted lineup.
Reigning Most valuable Player Jayjay Helterbrand paced the Kings with 20 points and 6 assists. Ronald Tubid and Enrico Villanueva added 15 points apiece and JC Intal, who struggled most of the series, added 10.
