NBA Daily Results

vs(From the Associated Press) - Chris Both put a poor shooting performance behind him in a big way for the Toronto Raptors. Bosh hit a 16-foot jumper with 2.1 seconds left and the Raptors ended a five-game losing streak with a 106-105 victory over Atlanta on Wednesday night. “I shot it with confidence, and there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that it (was) going in,” said Bosh. “I’m just glad it gave us the go-ahead to win the game.” Bosh was 6 of 19 from the field and finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds...He made a second-quarter layup to become the first player in franchise history to reach the 10,000-point plateau. “Something like that is always special,” Bosh said. “Just to be the first to do something is always cool.” Andrea Bargnani had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors, 2-10 in their last 12 games. Jamal Crawford had a season-high 33 points for the Hawks, who had won four straight and 10 of their last 13. Al Horford had 18 points and 14 rebounds, Mike Bibby added 17 points and Maurice Evans had 16...DeMar DeRozan had 19 points for the Raptors, while Turkoglu added 16.

vs(From the Associated Press) - Michael Jordan was known to play his best against the best. The team he now owns seems to fit that description, too. Hours after Jordan was approved as the first former player to be a majority owner of an NBA team, his Charlotte Bobcats continued a remarkable string of success against the better teams in the NBA, rallying from 19 points down to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-92 on Wednesday night. Stephen Jackson scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, Stephen Graham matched a career high with 19 points filling in for the injured Gerald Wallace, and the Bobcats sent poor-shooting Kevin Durant and the Thunder to only their fourth loss in 21 games...Durant had 26 points and 10 rebounds, but was 9 of 26 from the field and 0 of 7 from 3-point range for the Thunder, who were outscored 41-16 in the key stretch bridging halftime. “His shot was short most of the night,” Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. “He’s a worker. He’s going to come back. Very rarely is he going to have a 9-for-26 shooting game.” Jeff Green added 17 points, and Russell Westbrook added 15 points and 10 assists, but the Thunder’s five-game winning streak was snapped...“If you mention basketball, you can’t help but mention Michael Jordan,” Felton said. “So just to have him as an owner, that’s big. Seeing him sit there every game watching us play and stuff, that means a lot to the players. It makes you want to play harder.”

vs(From the Associated Press) - The Cavaliers clinched their second straight outright Central Division championship Wednesday night—and Mo Williams went home disappointed. LeBron James had 32 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in Cleveland’s 99-94 victory over the Indiana Pacers. With the win, Cleveland (54-15) became the first team this season to clinch a division title. Williams spent last summer and the early part of this season trying to cherish the little things along Cleveland’s bid to win an NBA championship. The first milestone passed by Wednesday without him realizing it...Troy Murphy had 19 points and 15 rebounds—but just four points and five rebounds in the second half for the last-place Pacers, who were trying to win consecutive games for the first time since Feb. 2-5. Roy Hibbert added 20 points for Indiana, which was without leading scorer Danny Granger...The Pacers have lost 13 of their last 17, including nine straight on the road. They have played Cleveland and Milwaukee, the top two teams in the division, down to the final minutes this week before falling. “The last two road games, we’ve given ourselves a chance to win in the fourth quarter and came up short against good teams,” O’Brien said. “We’ve won our last three home games, so things are starting to pick up for us.”

vs(From the Associated Press) - Andre Iguodala went back to basic for the Philadelphia 76ers. Two nights after missing 17 shots, including all seven of his 3-pointers, and finishing 5 for 22 in a loss to New York, Iguodala responded in a big way this time by driving to the basket against New Jersey. Iguodala scored 20 points, Jrue Holiday added 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and the Philadelphia snapped a five-game losing streak with a 108-97 victory over the Nets on Wednesday night. “I tried to set the tone early by being aggressive,” said Iguodala, who was 7 of 14 from the field and 6 of 7 on free throws. Je also had eight assists and four rebounds...Elton Brand added 12 points, and Lou Williams, Willie Green and Rodney Carney had 11 each to help the 76ers improve to 24-44 with their second victory in 12 games. Philadelphia shot 56 percent from the field and completed a 4-0 sweep of the Nets for the first time in 33 years...Chris Douglas-Roberts led the Nets (7-61) with 23 points, Keyon Dooling added 15 and Terrence Williams had 13. Brook Lopez and Jarvis Hayes also scored 12 apiece, and Kris Humphries had 10. New Jersey needs to win three of its last 14 games to avoid the NBA record for fewest victories set by the 1972-73 76ers when they went 9-73. “We just have to stay competitive and keep the pressure on,” Nets acting coach Kiki Vandeweghe said.

vs(From the Associated Press) - Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett played their best game together in more than a month. Coach Doc Rivers would be thrilled if they can dominate consistently once the playoffs arrive. Pierce scored 29 points, Garnett had 22 and Boston cruised to its third straight lopsided victory at home, 109-97 over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night...Pierce and Garnett have battled injuries in the second half of the season. But in the 10 games they’ve played together since Pierce missed three with a sore right thumb, they never combined for more than 39 points until Wednesday...David Lee led the Knicks with 29 points, and Al Harrington had 16. “There were a lot of toos out there,” New York coach Mike D’Antoni said. “They were too big, too quick, too good, and the road trip a little too long.”...The Celtics moved into a third-place tie in the East with Atlanta, which lost to Toronto on Wednesday night. But now they start a tough trip to Houston, Dallas and Utah. “You’ve definitely got to take care of the games at home just to get the momentum,” Garnett said. “Now we just have to go on the road, play the same way we’ve been playing—sharing the ball, playing defense with a lot of energy and playing through for 48 minutes.”

vs(From the Associated Press) - Tim Duncan sat stiff and stared aimlessly on the bench watching his San Antonio Spurs get blown away in the final minutes. His movement wasn’t much better on the court. The Orlando Magic made sure of that. Vince Carter had 24 points and eight assists, and the Magic smothered Duncan to beat San Antonio 110-84 on Wednesday night...Duncan had five points and was 1 for 10 from the field in the worst shooting percentage game of his career, a big reason the Spurs lost for only the second time in their last 10 games. Duncan’s previous low was a 1-for-8 night against Minnesota on April 20, 2005, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. “Just a bad night,” Duncan said. “Mainly myself. It kind of starts with me.” Rashard Lewis finished with 20 points, and J.J. Redick had 10 points to help the Magic win for the ninth time in 10 games. Orlando moved four games ahead of Atlanta and Boston for second in the Eastern Conference, but is still six games behind Cleveland...Richard Jefferson had 20 points, and Manu Ginobili added 18 for San Antonio, which fell to 4-2 since point guard Tony Parker broke his right hand. The Spurs briefly came back behind a pair of 3-pointers by Matt Bonner and another by Ginobli, slicing the deficit to 10 points at the half. Then Carter opened the third quarter with a trio of hard-driving layups. Carter also added an alley-oop pass to Howard—for a hard slam over Jefferson— to highlight a 13-4 Magic run that put them ahead by 22 points and all but sealed the win, pushing Duncan to the bench early. “It’s hard to play with Tim having an off night,” Ginobili said. “I totally, blindly trust him. Just one of those game.”

vs(From the Associated Press) - The Dallas Mavericks got back to their winning ways and avoided the first-quarter struggles that have bothered them lately. They also were thrilled to get Jason Terry back just two weeks after surgery to repair a broken bone in his face. Things would’ve really gone great if not for a lapse in the fourth quarter. With Jason Kidd taking the final period off, backup J.J. Barea was part of a defensive collapse that let the Chicago Bulls turn this near-rout back into a tight game. Then Barea recovered, scoring 10 straight points to help the Mavericks pull out a 113-106 victory Wednesday night...Caron Butler scored 27 points, and Dirk Nowitzki had 26 as the Mavericks won for the 14th time in 15 games. They’d tied the NBA’s longest winning streak this season with 13 straight, then ended it with a thud—a 34-point loss to New York on Saturday night...Although the Bulls got Kirk Hinrich back from a one-game suspension, they were still without point guard Derrick Rose (sprained left wrist), swingman Luol Deng (right calf strain) and big man Joakim Noah (left foot plantar fasciitis)...Dallas native Acie Law scored a season-high 22 points for Chicago. Five other players scored in double figures, and two more scored nine points. But the Bulls were done in by a defense that allowed at least 100 points for the 12th straight game...Barea finished with 15 points and Roddy Beaubois scored 11, picking up the slack for Kidd. Kidd was 0 for 5 and ended a streak of 30 straight games with a 3-pointer, which had been second-best in the NBA. He was 0 for 4 from behind the arc.

vs(From the Associated Press) - Aaron Brooks’ perfect 3-point shooting trumped the Memphis Grizzlies’ strong inside game Wednesday night. Brooks set a Houston record by hitting seven 3-pointers without a miss and scored 31 points, and the Rockets snapped the Grizzlies’ seven-game road winning streak with a 107-94 victory. “Kind of a weird experience,” said Brooks, who went 11 for 14 from the field overall. “I don’t think I’ve ever shot 7 for 7 in a game, a pickup game or anything like that. Some of the shots were off-balance, I don’t know. It just felt good.” Luis Scola scored 20 points, and Kevin Martin added 18 for the Rockets, who moved into ninth place in the Western Conference—a half-game ahead of Memphis. Houston has won four straight, its longest streak of the season...Zach Randolph had 30 points and 15 rebounds for the taller Grizzlies, who scored 64 points in the paint, a season high for a Houston opponent. The Rockets countered by going 10 for 19 from 3-point range and holding Memphis to one 3-pointer in seven attempts. Rudy Gay scored 14 points, and Mike Conley added 11 for the Grizzlies, who’ve lost eight straight games in Houston...Rudy Gay scored 14 points, and Mike Conley added 11 for the Grizzlies, who’ve lost eight straight games in Houston.

vs(From the Associated Press) - The Utah Jazz had to keep up with the surprising Minnesota Timberwolves early. By the second half, the Timberwolves had run out of surprises and energy and Utah coasted to a 122-100 victory Wednesday night. “We kept getting stops. We kept moving the ball offensively, getting rebounds and running,” said Carlos Boozer, who had 19 points and 11 rebounds for his 45th double-double of the season. “Next thing you know it went from a close game to a not-so close game and the game was over.” Paul Millsap, who had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Kyle Korver added a season-high 20 points on his 29th birthday to help the Jazz extend Minnesota’s losing streak to 11. The Timberwolves allowed 152 points in a loss at Phoenix the night before and had little energy left in the second half. Deron Williams finished with nine points and 11 assists before joining the other Utah starters on the bench for most of the fourth quarter...In less than 24 hours, the Timberwolves allowed 274 points in losses to the Suns and Jazz. Al Jefferson and Corey Brewer had 17 points apiece to lead Minnesota, which was outrebounded 20-12 in the second half...Mehmet Okur had 14 points and Matthews added 10 points for Utah, which opened the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run and coasted the rest of the way.

vs(From the Associated Press) - The injury-ravaged Golden State Warriors haven’t had the luxury of slowly bringing along their NBA Development League. That’s worked well for Reggie Williams, one of five D-League players called up by Golden State this season. Williams scored 22 points, 18 in the fourth quarter, to help the Warriors overcome a 21-point deficit and beat the New Orleans Hornets 131-121 on Wednesday night...Monta Ellis had 28 points and tied his career high with 13 assists while Anthony Tolliver, another D-League callup, had a career-high 30 points for the Warriors, who tied a team record with nine 3-pointers in the fourth quarter...David West had 36 points and a season-high 15 rebounds for New Orleans, which lost for the eighth time in its last nine road games. The Hornets have lost 10 of 13 overall to drop eight games behind Portland for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. “They were unreal,” said Morris Peterson, who had 17 points for New Orleans. “Every time we looked up it seemed like they were taking the ball to the basket. We’re up by 21 and they just got hot as a team.”...Chris Hunter, who also started the season in the Development League, had seven points during a 22-9 burst to end the third, then Ellis scored five quick points in the fourth, including a 3-pointer that tied it at 98 with 10:11 left. The Warriors later hit three 3-pointers, two straight by Reggie Williams, to take a 111-106 lead. Williams added two more 3-pointers and Ellis scored on a floating 7-foot jumper to make it 119-111.

vs(From the Associated Press) - So much for form. The Los Angeles Clippers had lost eight straight games, and the Milwaukee Bucks had won six in a row and 12 of 13. But with scoring depth and some strategic use of a zone defense the Clippers ended both streaks, beating the Bucks 101-93 on Wednesday night. Chris Kaman had 20 points and seven rebounds for Los Angeles. Brandon Jennings led Milwaukee with 21 points, 16 of them during the quarter. Milwaukee closed that period with an 18-2 run, erasing a 16-point Clippers lead to go up 74-72...Drew Gooden added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles. “(The zone) helped out a lot,” Gooden said. “They still got some open looks in the 3-point corner so we dodged a bullet with them not making those shots. But it helped us out a lot.”...Baron Davis had 14 points and seven assists, and Eric Gordon had 14 points for the Clippers. For Milwaukee, John Salmons scored 20 points, and Andrew Bogut had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Kaman, coming off a 3-for-15 night in the Clippers’ 106-100 loss to New Orleans on Monday, made 5 of 6 shots in the first quarter. He finished 8 of 13 from the field, helping the Clippers shoot 53 percent (34 of 64) to the Bucks’ 45 percent (37 of 83)...Jennings, from nearby Compton, had struggled in his previous appearance at Staples Center, going 4 for 17 from the field and scoring 10 points in a 95-77 loss to the Lakers on Jan. 10. But he scored 16 points during the third quarter, including 12 during the Bucks’ run to close the period.
