Sure, we've seen some very competitive and close games, but among the remaining four matchups, three are as lopsided as it can get and may well end in a sweep. The Magic lead the Hawks 3-0, the Suns lead the Spurs 3-0, and the Lakers lead the Jazz 3-0. The only matchup that's as close as it could be? Cavaliers-Celtics, where Cleveland leads two games to one. Interestingly, this is a matchup that garnered incredibly lopsided predictions from experts and sportswriters: not a single one picked the Celtics to win the series, and one even had the Cavs winning in four.
This begs a few questions:
- Are the Hawks, Spurs, and Jazz really not good enough to make it a closer series against their corresponding opponents? (I don't think so.)
- Have the Celtics been underrated all this time? Do they, in fact, have a switch that they are capable of turning on and off?
- Does this provide some evidence that the league is, in fact, not manipulating games so that each series goes to seven?
