Boozer and Williams combined for eight points and as many turnovers on 3-of-15 shooting before being benched in the third quarter with the rest of Utah’s starters in a blowout loss at Atlanta. It prompted Williams to apologize to Utah fans. Williams came back energized, constantly beating Charlotte in transition, while Boozer dominated the inside as the Bobcats faded early in the fourth quarter. They compensated by limiting Portland to just two field goals and seven points in the final seven minutes of the game...Barnes drew the unenviable assignment of slowing down Brandon Roy, who finished with 33 points, 21 of them in the second half. Roy scored 15 of Portland’s 21 points in the third quarter and kept his team afloat until Barnes got him under control in the final quarter...Andre Miller scored 16 for Portland, but the Trail Blazers ran out of energy in the second half. Portland shot just 34 percent after halftime and was outrebounded 54-35 by the Magic.

His ahead-of-schedule return was welcome news to a team that was again without newly acquired Allen Iverson, who missed his second straight game with arthritis in his left knee. Iverson had the knee drained twice this week.

John Salmons scored 16 and Chicago rallied again after falling behind by 17 in a win over New York on Thursday. That was enough to offset a big effort by Johnson, who finished two points shy of his career high. Horford had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Jamal Crawford scored 14, but the Hawks simply couldn’t put away Chicago.

WEBER From the Associated Press) - Tim Duncan dunked over Roy Hibbert with 4.6 seconds left to give San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich his 700th career win with a thrilling 100-99 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Duncan let out a roar after throwing down the last of his 19 points over Hibbert, who blocked Duncan’s first attempt with time winding down before the Spurs’ perennial All-Star grabbed the ball back and went over Hibbert for the winning score...Duncan also had 16 rebounds and scored eight of his points in the fourth. Tony Parker added 15 points and Keith Bogans had 14 for the Spurs. Troy Murphy led the Pacers with 21 points. Indiana, which rallied from a halftime deficit by ending the third quarter on a 21-8 burst, has not won in San Antonio in seven years.
vs(From the Associated Press) - Tyreke Evans made a reverse layup around Andrew Bogut with 0.9 seconds left, lifting the Sacramento Kings to a 96-95 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in a game that featured the NBA’s top two rookies...Evans scored a game-high 24 points to top Milwaukee rookie Brandon Jennings, who had 15 points, nine assists and six rebounds...Jason Thompson scored 22 points—including seven in the final three minutes — and had 10 rebounds for the Kings, who were playing their fourth game in five nights. Carlos Delfino scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter for the Bucks. Neither team led by more than seven the entire game. The lead changed hands seven times in the final two minutes and the star rookies were at the center of the action...Bogut scored 13 points in the first half and the Bucks led 53-49 at halftime.
vs(From the Associated Press) - Trevor Ariza scored 31 points and hit five 3-pointers, and the Rockets closed an exhausting run of four games in five days with a 95-90 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night...It was Houston’s 13th straight victory and 10th in a row at home against the Thunder. The Thunder cut Houston’s lead to 74-65 at the end of the third quarter and nipped at the Rockets’ heels the rest of the game. They pulled within one point, 82-81, on a pair of free throws by Russell Westbrook with 5:20 to play, but the Rockets never lost the lead. Kevin Durant, the Thunder’s leading scorer, hit only three of his first 12 shots and finished with 13 points. Jeff Green led Oklahoma City with 21 points on 6-of-18 shooting.

Amare Stoudemire had 23 points and 14 rebounds and Jason Richardson scored 22 as the Suns remained the only team in the NBA without a home loss. Phoenix has won 19 in a row at home dating to last season...Gilbert Arenas, who had 45 points and 13 assists as the Wizards snapped a six-game losing streak with a win at Golden State on Friday, scored 22 in 23 minutes but made just 6 of 21 shots.
