Barangay Ginebra snapped Coca-Cola's three-game winning streak with a 98-91 victory Sunday night in the KC-Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Fiesta Conference at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Kings led as much as 22 points early in the second quarter and were still in full control midway in the fourth when the Tigers tried to mount a comeback but fell short to absorb their first loss.
Awvee Storey finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds but was hardly a factor in the fourth period due to foul trouble.
Ronald Tubid added 18 points while JC Intal and Cyrus Baguio each had 13 for Ginebra, which improved its mark to 2-1.
"We were in control the whole game but we have to play a little smarter towards the end," said Kings head coach Jong Uichico. "Practically, it was a won game already. We played hard but we did not play smart."
