Philippine Cup champion Derby Ace put up a solid defensive effort against the high-scoring Air21 team to nail its second straight win, 92-75, for a 2-0 mark.
Lorenzo Wade scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Llamados.
"We just couldn't allow them (Express) to score at high 90s. That team loves to score," said Derby Ace mentor Ryan Gregorio who also drew double figures from James Yap (15), Roger Yap (14) and Nino Canaleta (12).
Ronjay Buenafe led Air21 with 14 points but import Keena Young was a big disappointment for the Express as he scored only 13 on 5-of-11 shooting from the field.
Renren Ritualo added 12 for Air21 which dropped its second straight assignment for a 1-3 win-loss slate. - www.abs-cbnnews.com
